Field Day Festival

Brief:

Plan, rig, and operate a cable camera line at Field Day Festival in London’s Victoria Park for the duration of Aphex Twin’s headline set.

Operations:

The site was a tricky setup to navigate as the length of the cable run was over 100m. Our standard cables are 100m so we had to source some very specialist aramid core 200m cables. We did an overnight load in and began to rig at 6am, finishing at mid-day when the site opened for customers.

During the show, we operated for nearly 2 hours consistently as part of a post-produced live performance show of Aphex Twin’s headline set.

We rigged an A7Siii on a Ronin RS3 Pro on the cable camera dolly. We used Sony GM 24-70 f2.8 in order to keep the weight down and extend the run time on the cable cam between battery changes.

The client loved the footage and has booked us onto their next show in a few months.
